There's been a lot of talk lately around the proverbial water cooler of how we plan to honor our mothers this year. In the past, I saw "my special day" as a much-needed break from planning and cooking meals for the family which seems to be quite typical for moms even today. Now that I'm older without little ones underfoot, my adult daughter and I have chosen to skip church (shhh!) and, instead, go to breakfast and "shop". While she's looking forward to her mini vacay from hubby and the 3 littles, I get uninterrupted time with her. It's a win-win!

As always, I love hearing from you! Let me know how you'll be spending this year's Mother's Day or your favorite from years past. Send your stories and pics to me at Susan@RusticRedDoor.com. Enjoy your Mother's Day!
The bond between mothers and their children is one defined by love. As a mother's prayers for her children are unending, so are the wisdom, grace, and strength they provide to their children. – George Washington
