TALENTED, FUN-LOVING & CHIPPER with a beautiful and contagious smile… are words I would use to describe Jen.

Several years ago, Jen and the RRD owners attended the same church, and she soon began helping them with occasional childcare (and still does, cuz she’s so great with kids!)  It wasn’t long before her talent for hand lettering was discovered and she began incorporating her designs into an ever-changing collection of framed verses and other artistic creations.

As Rustic Red Door’s Creative Director she not only hand letters just about any request and makes our graphics look really cool, she’s also able to personalize our lazy susans using her mad wood burning skills.

Jen says, ...Words are more my thing… (instead of drawing) and began playing with her handwriting around 5th grade when she realized her own cursive writing had a beauty in and of itself. She’s always loved experimenting with different fonts over the years and has even created a few of her own.

When asked if she has a favorite item she especially enjoys making, here’s what she described: I like taking a smooth piece of raw wood and staining it dark then hand lettering on the finished piece.

As you can see, Jen’s creative mind has been evolving over the years. Her current passion is creating beautiful phone wallpaper and has several examples you can see in her Pinterest album.

I asked Jen what she would tell a young dreamer who may be aspiring to be a creative designer. Jen replied, Keep practicing. I started 15 years ago, and it’s funny to see how far I’ve come. I’ve always been an avid doodler, and I’m better off for it.

What about Jen’s time away from the office? You’ll be interested in knowing that Jen loves to sing as well as lead worship at church and conferences. She also plays percussion (tambourine, shaker, cajon, djembe, etc.), loves hanging out with her Bible Study group girls and other friends, and plans social events for her small group girls.

We feel so blessed to have Jen and her talent as part of the Rustic Red Door family and look forward to seeing what creative ideas she brings to us next!

P.S. Jen would love to help your
custom ideas become a reality.
