As I sit at my desk, another winter storm is blasting away on the other side of my window causing extremely treacherous road conditions. The fresh coat of snow is beautiful, but I'd really rather not be gazing out at all that fluffy white stuff today. Not again.
At least not again this year.
and I cannot wait! I love being able to open the windows and breathe in the fresh, clean air! I love hearing the birds chirp and seeing the bunnies running and jumping playfully in the yard like they did before the frigid temps forced them to burrow deep underground.
Bringing me almost as much joy as springtime out doors is a sparkly clean and well-organized in doors. You, too? Well, this year, I’d like to follow my boss’ bent towards being on the more natural and environmentally friendly side by sharing a couple of safer household cleaner recipes. I'm also sharing a few Rustic Red Door items that can give you new and beautiful ways to organize some of the shoe and coat clutter that seemed to sprout up over the winter.
I realize for some, it will be a challenge to begin with the grit and grime cleaning that most people won't even notice, but let's start there anyway :). I always feel better when I KNOW my home is clean, and I'm sure you do too. For a general, all-purpose cleaner, Wellness Mama has the following recipe and many details about the ingredients on their site.
such as what you'll find with a lot of our Rustic Red Door items, needs a completely different type of cleaner for it to retain its splendor throughout the years. If your home is graced by one of our magnificently handcrafted, solid wood tables, we recommend the following natural recipe found on the Better Homes and Gardens website. This recipe will not only clean but also condition any solid wood furniture.
I discovered a laundry list (pun intended) of recipes from Homemade Drain Cleaner to Eco-friendly Tumble Dryer Sheets. You'll find those and many more at Keeper of the Home and Home and Gardening Ideas. If you're willing to share your personal fave, please send it to me at Susan@RusticRedDoor.com.
To help with organizing, Rustic Red Door has a wonderful selection of shoe benches,
and a wide variety of shelves to match any decor.
If this is your first time to walk through the Rustic Red Door, you'll soon learn that we LOVE our products, and we're confident you’ll fall in love with them, too. Nothing is mass-produced. Each item is hand-created by select American, predominantly Amish, craftsmen who take meticulous care in developing each piece into an heirloom-quality item. You’ll observe this in every characteristic of our distinctive, solid wood furniture. Custom design is available on almost everything we sell.
