FAQS

What kind of furniture do you customize?

Almost all of the furniture you see on our site is customizable. Dining tables, dining chairs, buffets, hutches, benches, beds, and more can be designed and built according to your family's specific needs and design style.

Not sure if we customize what you're looking for? Ask us! We've created other custom residential and commercial projects including live edge bar tops, barnwood trim, countertops, and cabinetry, wood walls for the backdrop of a fireplace.

Do you charge a fee for your design services?

No. We offer an initial 30-minute complimentary visit over the phone through Facetime or Skype, to help you decide the right piece for your room. While considering many factors, including your life circumstances, we can help you determine the right size and shape for your furniture piece(s). We want each one to work well for you and last a lifetime!

How long does it take to create custom furniture?

It depends on what you want to get customized. Certain items can take 4-8 weeks. Larger furniture like dining tables and hutches will typically take 12-18 weeks.

During your appointment, we will give you an estimated time of arrival. That way, you have plenty of time to set up your home so it's ready to be used when it arrives.

How long will this furniture last?

All of our furniture items are crafted to heirloom quality. What does that mean? For us, this means that we prioritize quality throughout the whole process - from idea to delivery in your home.

Our expert designers are equipped to help you make the best decisions for your wants and needs in your ideal furniture piece. We have great relationships with the woodworkers that prioritize quality of their handcrafted work, materials and don't cut corners when creating your piece.

When the piece is finished, we will hand deliver this to your home and if set up is required, we'll do that too. We'll communicate with you on the best time so you can watch your idea come to life!

Are table bases interchangeable?

Most of our hand-welded, American-Steel bases are interchangeable depending on the style of the table. And our wooden table bases can be used with a wide variety of tops. Our expert design consultants are able to guide you to the right combination of top and base so your table meets all of your family's needs.

If you have an idea for a custom base, we can probably make it! Our designers can also give unique, one-of-a-kind ideas for your base.

How many people can sit at a table?

Tables can be designed and built to accommodate your family or guests -no matter the number. But generally, dining tables are 30"H; rectangular tables have standard widths of 42"-48". (See the chart below for seating capacities.)

Download our Dining Table Guide to learn more about different shapes, sizes, and other things to consider when choosing your table. Then schedule a complimentary design appointment with one of our expert designers to determine the best size for your family.

Rectangular Table Seating Capacity:

48"L - 60"L 6 People

72"L - 84"L 8 People

96"L - 108"L 10 People

120"L - 144"L 12 People

Where do you deliver?

We started as an online company and have a lot of experience shipping all throughout the US. For our larger items, we prefer to deliver only to the lower 48 states; however, we would consider requests for shipping outside the lower 48 states.

Are your prices lower if items are picked up at the warehouse?

Yes, we do provide lower prices when items are picked up from our warehouse. Stop by our showroom and get a firsthand look at all of our stunning, heirloom-quality furniture and decor.

Why do your prices seem higher than most retail chains?

We believe in the old adage: "You get what you pay for." Each of our pieces, handcrafted from top-quality, solid wood and steel materials by select woodworkers in Ohio, is proof. They are designed and built to heirloom quality and are made to last a lifetime. You won’t find yourself purchasing another table because of a flawed design or shoddy workmanship. Instead, you’ll be able to pass your investment down to the next generation and beyond!

How do I take care of my wood table?

Climate Control & Light

  • Do not place your new wooden furniture in direct sunlight. Over time, UV rays can bleach and damage the integrity of the wood.

  • Place your wooden furniture away from heat sources such as fireplaces, radiators, or heating vents. Regular exposure to heat will eventually dry and warp the wood.

  • Avoid significant fluctuations in temperature and humidity which cause the wood to expand and shrink. Use a dehumidifier or humidifier to maintain a more stable climate. The ideal climate for wooden furniture is a consistent 60-80˚F and 30-60% humidity, all year.

  • Regular Care

    • Use placemats, tablecloths, trivets, and coasters for tables. While our wooden furniture has a durable finish, heat and moisture can cause damage to any wood surface.

    • Avoid the use of rubber and plastics on wooden furniture. As plastics break down, they can bleach their color onto the wood’s surface and chemically damage the finish.

  • Maintenance and Cleaning

    • Dust your wooden furniture frequently. Dust with the grain of the wood to maintain the integrity of the natural wood design.

    • Microfiber cloths are best at trapping dirt but any soft cloth can be used to dust your furniture. Refold the cloth often to avoid redepositing dust back onto the surface.

    • Avoid spray polishes. Repeated use causes a build-up of the polish which dulls the surface of your furniture.

    • Consistently use the same type of polish on your wooden furniture. Using a wax-based polish and an oil-based polish interchangeably can result in a cloudy or streaked appearance on your wood finish.

    • Only use cleaning products that are designed for the finish applied to your particular piece of wood. When in doubt, a soft cloth moistened with water and a drop of detergent will adequately clean most wooden surfaces. To regularly clean a frequently used wooden surface, such as a dining table, a mixture of 1 tablespoon of distilled white vinegar to 1 cup of water will help remove normal daily residue.

    • Never saturate your wooden surfaces. When using a moistened wet cloth to clean your wood, immediately rinse and dry the surface when you are finished.

    • Powder-coated metals may be cleaned with a clean, damp cloth.
