Why Buy Amish, American-Made Furniture?

Cheap and convenient.  Today, many consumers value purchasing the least expensive piece of seemingly attractive furniture and other big ticket items, regardless of quality.  Most of this furniture is mass-produced outside of the United States using poor quality, composite materials or wood that is not sustainably harvested.  However, as our customer, you can expect more when you choose to invest in creations from The Rustic Red Door.  Why should you buy our Amish, American-made products?

Quality

Each piece is uniquely handcrafted using sturdy carpentry techniques such as  dovetail joints, mortise & tenon joints and tongue-in-groove joints which ensure the strength and longevity of the furniture.  Amish woodworkers select only the highest quality, most attractive hardwoods such as hickory, cherry and quartersawn oak then carefully hand-plane, sand and stain-match to provide beautiful furniture of the highest quality.

Sustainability

Our craftsman use hardwood purchased from NHLA member lumber companies.  The National Hardwood Lumber Association and its members are committed to the sustainability of American hardwood production by utilizing operations that provide for the needs of customers today while still building resources for tomorrow.

Fair Pay

Our woodworkers take meticulous care when producing the products that bring our customers back time and again.  Their attention to detail takes time, much longer than conventional factory-produced furniture, and we are willing to pay a fair price in appreciation for their industrious and strong work ethic.  This ensures a high quality product from a dedicated supplier.

When you buy your furniture from The Rustic Red Door, you can feel confident that your purchase supports ethical business practices that prosper American communities and the environment.
