People, in general, seem to LOVE looking inside the homes of others, so we wanted to give you an opportunity here to do just that. Each month, we'll let you take a peek inside some of our customers' homes (with their permission, of course) where you'll get to see how they've incorporated rustic furniture and decor throughout.
This month's "customer" is none other than the owners of Rustic Red Door Company! Kerry started this company when she was a mom of two and wanted something she could do from home. As the company grew, her husband Shaun became an integral part of the growth, along with their 5 boys! You can read more about it here. Now, let's take a look at the rustic home furniture in their house!
One of the many wonderful things we inherited from our parents is a passion for high-quality furniture and decor. We’ve chosen to continue in the tradition of owning excellent products built by personally selected craftsmen, some of who were actually introduced to us by Mom and Dad years ago. Because of the solid wood construction of each handcrafted piece, we know with confidence that we’ll be passing down these heirlooms to our children when the time comes, and they, in turn, will be able to pass them on to our grandchildren and great-grandchildren. -K & S
As the owners of Rustic Red Door, it's only appropriate to deck their bedroom out with rustic furniture. They've dressed their room with reclaimed wood and cherry, and we have to say... it really brings the room together!
They wanted a custom made reclaimed wood wall that you see. It looks wonderful with the fireplace tucked inside, and adds so much warmth to the bedroom!
It's time to initiate coziness. The owners wanted to add warm cherry wood. Here, you can see our rustic cherry nightstand, a custom cherry bed frame, and rustic farmhouse dresser. Each piece has a tobacco stain to add the rich brown hues to the cherry wood.
You can peek at the additional dresser next to the fireplace too! This red dresser is made of maple - the color adds such a farmhouse feel to it.
Behind the bed, you can see three barnwood framed mirrors to open up the space. What a beautiful bedroom!
Their living room also has a custom fireplace surround that is made of reclaimed wood! Within it, sits a beautiful custom live edge mantel, supported by arched steel brackets! This one includes the bark to give it a nice touch of nature.
Let's take a detour into their dining area. Above, you can see a customer favorite, our square dining table in cherry wood with the ladderback dining chairs. This extendable table makes it easy to seat extra guests, but is also perfect for everyday dining. The rough sawn wood gives it a nice rustic look!
Next, you'll see their wine buffet cabinet with a maple base and barnwood top. The ebony stain on the bottom gives this piece a nice contrast. It makes it so much easier to store special dinner wear, and of course... the wine!
Here, you can see the CEO's live edge maple desk. The little cracks are filled with epoxy, and it sits on a "golden-gate" style steel base. (Abe, the pug, not included with purchase.)
For the decor, you can see some live edge shelves and frames to decorate her office space. The timeless shelves are held up by the heavy duty steel brackets.
You can also take a sneak peak into her children's computer station! The computers sit on a barnwood desk that matches her "golden-gate" steel base. Besides that, you can see more frames, a live edge shelf, the 9-opening barnwood picture frame, and barnwood frame cork board to keep the kiddos on schedule!
In their bathroom, you can see two beautiful reclaimed wood mirrors. To the right of the photo (or reflection of the mirror), you can see three hand hewn floating shelves to keep things neat!
