Ralph Lauren-Inspired Christmas Tablescape
Classic, preppy, glamorous & rustic Christmas Table
Will you be home for Christmas this year?! We will! And you know what that means...it’s time to set our holiday table.
For this year’s Christmas tablescape, I decided to go for a “Ralph Lauren-inspired” look. When you think of a Ralph Lauren holiday, what comes to mind? For me, it’s often a beautiful mix of classic, preppy, and glamorous decor with a bit of rustic thrown in for good measure.
Now that we’ve established our inspiration, we need to choose our table. This year, we have selected our lovely Wexway barnwood table. This rectangular dining table is crafted of reclaimed barnwood. The top has an antique slate stain for a gray hue, and the base is an ebony stain.
This two-toned table has a trestle base, creating a farmhouse style in your home. This barnwood table comes in multiple sizes and finishes, and optional breadboard extensions for an additional 3 feet in length. Perfect for families of all sizes!
Ok, so...we’ve got our inspiration and our table...now we’ve got to get to work on building our tablescape.
Remember: The design aspects of my Ralph Lauren inspiration again are classic, preppy, glamorous, and rustic.
Preppy
Let’s start with ‘preppy’. One preppy staple is, for sure, plaid. Tartan to be more specific, and so I chose a gorgeous green-backed tartan plaid table runner and cloth napkins. You might also find that the navy-blue velvet ribbons that adorn our decorative wreaths give off that quintessential Ralph Lauren preppy vibe as well.
Classic
Our classic elements are our green taper candles along with our simple white plates and chocolate-colored glasses.
Glam
We’re a bit heavier on the glam with this tablescape because it’s the holidays, and we’re looking to add sparkle and shine to create that air of festive fun. I did that by choosing these pleated-edge gold chargers as well as gold silverware, brass candlesticks, green mercury glass votive holders, and our gold champagne bucket centerpiece.
Rustic
Finally, our rustic elements can be found in the centerpiece and on each place setting with the faux greens, twigs, pinecones, and feathers. Even the stag heads mounted to either side of our champagne bucket give a subtle nod to rustic glamour.
What do you guys think? Did I nail the Ralph Lauren holiday look?
All that’s left to do is carve the ham or turkey (or whatever your family desires), pull out the sides, fill your glasses, and enjoy time together with your loved ones.
Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
