Rustic Furniture Accents in Bright Suburban Home
Location: Collegeville, PA
Millwork/Furniture Design: Shaun Smith, Rustic Red Door
We'd like to welcome you to our customer's colorful home. Long-lasting memories are being made in several areas of this bright and cheery suburban home! It's beautifully adorned with numerous rustic pieces which are mostly co-designed by us and the home owners. Now, this family knows how to bring the simple appeal of nature indoors!
Keep scrolling to see how this beautiful home looks with rustic accents and a hint of farmhouse flair.
Dining Area
Let's take a look into their wonderful dining area. Above, you can see their bright blue walls. They settled on white accents in the dining room.
Here, you can see a distressed white buffet inspired by our Payton buffet. It adds such a nice farmhouse look to their space! However, they decided on drawers on the left side to make it more functional for their family. On top, you can see a custom chalkboard so they can scribble their grocery lists, or write lovely notes to each other!
And of course, if you're a connoisseur of fine wines, it only makes sense to have a visible wine shelf in your dining room! As you can see, the top of the rustic cherry wine rack can be used as a shelf, as they so wonderfully show through their festive decor! (Quick question. Is it wine-o-clock yet?)
Entryway
Instead of a large coat rack, this family opted for four individual coat hooks on wood. These sit perfectly in line on the wall, parallel to their custom live edge bench. It makes it easy to sit down and take off or put on shoes before heading out!
Closet Barn Door in Hallway
You can tell a family loves the farmhouse style when they have a distressed white barn door! This closet door is made out of barnwood and slides smoothly on steel hardware. This was the perfect choice for the narrow hallway to their bedroom. Traditional doors can take up too much space, but this barn door makes it easy to get in and out of the closet with ease. It's the perfect accent for their bedroom!
Home Office Area
Now we're visiting their bright and airy office area! Here, you can see a custom live edge desk. To spice it up, they wanted a gray cabinet as the other base so they could have an easy place to store their work necessities. The other side of the desk has the classic 'golden gate" base.
Instead of keeping the walls plain, they asked for live edge shelves and steel brackets for displaying decor. What a wonderful office setup!
Live Edge Tables for Living Areas
Luckily, this family has plenty of space in their home. The two photos above are of their live edge coffee table with a blue epoxy river. You can see some shells (provided by our clever customers) inlaid on the outskirts of the epoxy as the table top sits on a steel base. What a fun piece to make!
Below, you'll see another coffee table. Here, you see a live edge round slab that adds so many fun textures to the room.
