Characteristics of Rustic Cherry
Cherry and rustic cherry are actually from the same species of tree. Rustic cherry has more "imperfections" when compared to cherry and, therefore, less wood is wasted when creating furniture pieces. However, those naturally occurring "imperfections" are actually knots in the wood that are considered perks that add to its rustic appearance.
Heirloom Quality Craftsmanship
Each cherry dresser is handcrafted by our select woodworkers in Ohio using quality wood materials. (No veneers or manufactured wood products are used.) Their expert woodworking practices are evident in the overall construction of the chests as well as in the dovetail, mortise and tenon, and tongue in groove joints. Using these joint types makes the cherry dresser sturdy and long-lasting. A finish of pre-catalyzed polyurethane helps protect the wood making it a durable furniture piece that can be passed down from one generation to the next.
