This gorgeous craftsman home has so many amazing custom features! We had the opportunity to work with an extremely talented client on this project who happens to be an architect. We were able to work together to develop a look fitting of the 1912 Craftsman home they were renovating. Take a look at how wonderful it turned out!
They wanted a kitchen that had more of a farmhouse feel to it, so we helped them to create some custom pieces while keeping the craftsman layout! Instead of using quartersawn white oak, they opted for solid maple cabinetry. To create a distressed look, we used white paint and a black powder glaze.
Other than the "standard" cabinets, they wanted a corner cabinet, pull out spice rack, cutting board drawer over the waste/trash can, and corner shelving to ease the transition as they walk in and out of the hallways. Keep scrolling to see these photos below!
To pair with the distressed white cabinets, they wanted a warm, yet cooler tone on top. We helped them create quartersawn white oak countertops with a grey oil-based finish. It gives the cabinets a wonderful contrast.
Our customer wanted to continue to match their wood choice with more quartersawn white oak. They wanted some smaller shelves that could fit perfectly on smaller wall spaces. We also helped them to create a few different steel brackets.
Below, you can see their new dining table, chairs, and benches! This table was inspired by our Holbrooke table - but instead of cherry, they wanted it in quartersawn white oak! We love how the wood matches the wood in the kitchen! This wooden extendable dining table has a beautiful base with turnbuckle rods to increase the table's stability.
For the seats, they wanted rustic dining chairs and a bench for a variety of seating options. For the bench, our customer wanted to match the table, so we made a custom piece for them!
To finish it off, they needed one more piece to hold their decor gracefully. We created a custom reclaimed barnwood beam to warm up the home with its natural features.
Working with an architect customer was such a fun experience. But you don't need to have an architect to have a beautiful home.
