The recommendation depends on how many people you would like to seat. This does not include middle leaf extensions (each leaf offers an additional 12" in width).
Square Table Seating Capacity
Besides knowing how many people you want to seat, it's important to know how the table will fit in your dining room. Read our dining table guide to figure out what type of table is best to add to your dining room.
Besides adding clean lines through a uniform design, these square tables can be smaller than rectangular tables while offering just as many seats around the table. This is the perfect addition for your daily dining table, with the option to add leaves so there's extra space for guests (leaves add 12" in Width to the table).
It depends on the size of your dining room. The edges of a square table can add more surface space but take up more room, which may not be ideal if your dining room is too small. Please follow our guide to help you figure out which table is best for your dining space.
To seat 8 people, you would need a table that is at least 54" x 54" (or 4.5' x 4.5')
To seat 4 people, you need a square table that is at least 3' x 3'.
To seat 12 people, you need a square table that is at least 6' x 6'.
We recommend keeping your dining table out of direct sunlight, as it can bleach and damage the wood. We also recommend keeping it away from heat sources (like fireplaces).
For maintenance, we recommend using coasters, placemats, and tablecloths to avoid heat and moisture damaging the wood surface. You can also clean your table with a simple 1:8 vinegar to water ratio sprayed on a microfiber cloth. You can read more about our tips for caring for our solid wood in our FAQ.
